Teachers wishing to send a contestant to the LAD Fair Spelling Bee should complete a LAD membership form and submit it, along with their registration fee of $20, to the appropriate person as named on the registration form. This also entitles the teacher to submit writings to the LAD Fair writing competition. For further information about submitting student writings, please refer to the LAD rules and category descriptions. We hope you take advantage of your LAD membership by allowing more of your students to participate!

A $20 individual membership entitles a member’s students to full participation in LAD Fair writing categories, the spelling bee, and the scholarship competition.

Schools wishing to participate in the spelling bee should complete a school membership form. This membership enables all students in a school to participate in the Language Arts Fair Spelling Bee but does not enable students to compete in the writing categories.

All first place winners are cordially invited to read their works aloud during the LAD Fair from 8:00 – 9:30. Readings must be scheduled on site that day, and they may be no longer than two minutes.
